How To Move Forward Even If You Are Lost Or Stuck
We have all felt stuck or even lost at some point in our lives. Perhaps that you are in this exact situation right now.
When that happens, it can feel impossible to keep moving forward toward your goals and dreams.
The most familiar situation could be the loss of a job.
Perhaps that you are at the point of being ready to give up.
This is why I’ll try to help you by giving you some tips and clues to continue moving forward to finally reach your goals and dreams.
1 | Take a step back and brainstorm
The importance of taking a step back is to move away from the painting to see the painting better. Assess your situation from a new viewpoint.
Think about where you are, what got you here, and what you want.
The objective is to take a look at your life from a new perspective.
A perspective that feet more with your real goals, the life that you want.
“Take a step back. Life gets distorted when you examine things from too close up.”
― Richelle E. Goodrich
2 | Set goals
A way to counter this feeling of being lost is to set goals and reflect.
It helps to provide clarity and gives focus, motivation, and accountabilities.
You can set your goals for tomorrow, the week, the month.
The objective is to finish the day or the week with a sentiment of accomplishment.
If you want to find a job you can fix objectives like improving your CV or applying to ₓ jobs a week.
Goals give you something to go toward. Furthermore, as we said it gives you a feeling of accomplishment. Reflect on your goals to push you toward your objectives.
3 | Create a routine
Having a routine will help you to provide a structure to your days, build good habits as well as creating efficiency.
Earlier we saw that setting goals are important, having a routine is an excellent way to reach these goals.
This is a long run, if you advance every day you’ll end at your destination.
First, you need to set up a morning routine, it is the beginning of your day.
Therefore, it’s really important to start the day well. Check this post to go deeper into the morning routine.
Secondly, you should have a night routine to end your workday well. You can structure it as you want.
For example, you can go to sleep at the same hour, go outside to take a walk.
To sum up, the objective of having a routine is to structure your day to be more productive and less lost in what to do.
4 | Take action
I want to end on this advice, you need to take action.
I know that everyone is probably telling that to you, and believe me this is for a good reason.
The reason is simple. Do what you want to do, or you will regret it.
Something important is to be sure of what you are going to do. If you are sure you should start, even start before you’re ready.
Because learning in the field is effective. Additionally, learning from your errors is the strongest way of learning.
Finally, before you start what you are going to do, it needs to agree with your values, with your ethics.
I say this because a lot of people take action to make bad things like scamming others for example. And I don’t want you to do this type of stuff.
In conclusion, my 4 advice to keep moving forward even if you feel stuck or lost are the following.
Take a step back and brainstorm to see if what you’re doing is what you want to do, what you can improve, do better, change…
After that you should set goals to go forward, you’ll see the advancement at the end of each goal.
Next, you should create your routine to be productive, to have a well-structured day, days that fit your goals as well as to yourself.
Finally, you should take action, once you know where you want to go, what are your goals, and your routine you should just start, make the first step on this path to arrive at your promise land!
I hope that you have learned something or that you are motivated to move forward after the reading of this post! Have a nice day and don’t give up.
